Me too, me too.

It is best to raise the calcium with a two part solution and then use kalk to maintain it.

also i know ive read about adding vinegar to basicly lower the ph and to give extra co2..im curious instead of adding the vinegar should i take out the air stone i have in my sump? I recenly added an air stone to my sump cuz i was havin ph problems and was tryin force out any extra co2. does that make sence? im just figuring that it would give maybe a little more co2 for the kalk to bond with.

The vinegar lowers the PH of the kalk because it is an acid(lower than 7.0 ph) where as the kalk is an alkaline(higher than 7.0 ph). The vinegar also allows more calcium to be dissolved in the kalk water.

soon i will be. i just finally got my levels nice and high. i have been fighting and up hill battle for 2 weeks now. i would add calicum and buffer. the kent a b system. but i allso use a lot every day. i finally got my calicum at 450 and my alk at 5 and my ph is high at night but lower in the morning. i seem to go from 5 mel/q to 4 mel/q in one day if i do not put any supplements in. also my calc will drop 40 ppm in a day no problem if i do not add any supplements. do these numbers seem to corrilat to any of your data? i have a 55 heavily populated tank. with t5 lighting. as soon as i get a drip canister i will start using kalk. i just needed to use kent to get the levels in the right spots.

How fast does your calc and alk drop in one day.
or
How long untill you see a noticable difference in you calc or alk levels?

what is your MG at, if low it is hard to get and keep Ca up.
