| Tubeworm | Water change in shallow tank If a tank is only 12" tall, how do you do, say a 20% water change without exposing the live rock and corals? Or is it ok to have them exposed to air for a minute or two? Im debating on buying a 20L or 33L tank, and just have a few questions. |

| Rabid Wolverine Reefer ![]() | Re: Water change in shallow tank go with the 33long. great tank. everything will be fine for 15 minute exposure to air as long as kept moist (turn lights off)

| Totally back ![]() | Re: Water change in shallow tank I had an sps tank in a 12" deep tank and they did fine exposed during water changes, I did make sure to turn off the lights just to make sure the halides didn't toast them. The 33L is a pretty skinny tank, not sure I would recommend them for that size tank even at 4' long. I did keep one in a 3' 40 breeder before without any issues. Remember to take in account how much live rock etc. you have in there, it will displace a lot of space for them to swim around.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Water change in shallow tank I say yes you can have things out of the water during a water change. I have a number of things including a clam and an RBTA that are exposed during water changes. I would say no to the tang. IMO they just need more room.
