Moutning Candy head

My blue candy cane was damaged a few weeks back and only the polyp portion was damaged no skeleton. I would like to know how to mount the polyp as there is no calcareous skeleton and the polyp is currently laying in the sand but it is doing well.

I was thinking of just crazy gluing the polyp to a piece of live rock but thought I should check first.

Wow. I didn't think they could survive that way?
Is it sticking to anything at all on the substrate?

I'd like to see a picture of that. Are you talking about a Calaustrea?

I will post a pic of it shortly. It is currently on the substrate but I can't tell if has stuck to anything yet.

After damaging it I left in the tank to be devoured by the clean up crew but instead it's flourishing. I will be sure to document the progress for future reference.

That would be cool if they could attach and start building a new calcium skeleton.

I hope this to be true, and I will try to carefully document the progress. For now I will simply leave it on the substrate and see what happens.

Yes the tentacles do still come out and that's actually what prompted this little inquest.

Latest update. It appears that a secondary polyp has developed somehow. I'm not sure what to make of it but it is located underneath the expanded polyp and is shaded darker.

Update, the polyps were being kicked around by the snails so I went ahead and mounted it/them as there are now two of them

From the looks of things they seem to be doing well as the feeding tentacles are still extending. I will go for a target feeding sometime this week and I'll try to get some pics of that a well. Any questions or comments feel free and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.
