| Harlequin Tuskfish | pyramid snails (possibly.) I am looking into another clam. My last one died because my lights werent good enough (68watts pc for a 2'' corcea) I am looking again at another corcea but it is 5'' and i have upgraded to a 150 watt HQI. Now down to buisness. I have noticed little white snails hanging on the underside of my turbo snails I am pretty sure they are pyrams but my question is are there pyrams that only attack snails and ones that only attack clams? or is a pyramid snail a pyramid snail and it will host anything? Thank you for your time and information. I will take a picture of the offending snails on my turbos. Mark

| Fuzzy Sticks ![]() | Re: pyramid snails (possibly.) I would invest in a yellow coris wrasse. Also pick them out by hand. I would use turbos also to attract them. I never had them, (i have a yellow coris wrasse ) but i think there are some other methods to getting rid of them. I am sure other will pipe in. You might want to check out Clams Direct also. Very good site for clam issues.

| Golden Moray | Re: pyramid snails (possibly.) i had p snails (dreaded pyramid snails) they will attack clams its not an atack its a leach... eazyly removed from snails tho.... just take the snail out and scrap it off. I had them in my smaller tanks (with out clams) and luckly i was able to clean snails off enough to brake the pyramid snails cycle... and they are gone... but as far as cleaning a clam, i do not know. if you see them on your snails, remove the snail flip him over, and clean him off... (lol i was flicking the pyramid snails across the room) as the cycle is being effected you will notice more and more on a single snail... that means they are havieng trouble... Gl

| Golden Moray | Re: pyramid snails (possibly.) they will spread, your snails often clean each other... and thats when the pyramid snails are able to transport across from shell to shell... you should look at all yours snails as you can, (when they are on the glass) and inspect for pyramid snails. i thought i had a good pic of a infected cierth... but i cant find it.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: pyramid snails (possibly.) Here are some photos I took in 2003 when I first learned of pyramid snails. I had to manually wipe all snails daily for a few months to finally get rid of them
