| Do I look as lost as I am ![]() | Re: oceanic sea salt mix makes water cloudy? Are you letting it "Stew" in the mix container for a while? I draw my Ro/DI water on Sunday, add the Salt Mix Sunday night and test/tweak on Monday. You don't really want to mix and add to the tank in the same day. The new salt water needs to "soak/Stew" for 24 hours before it's added to your tank.

It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!! | Do I look as lost as I am ![]() | Re: oceanic sea salt mix makes water cloudy? I use an old power head in the bucket to keep the water moving and agitate the salt to make it mix better. You also want to have a heater and thermometer so you can match the tanks temp precisely. Good luck and let us know how it comes out.
