So in the next coming months i plan to upgrade from my 18 gal toa 29 gal w/ a 10 or 18 gal sump.

i have the tanks, the LR, and a skimmer.

I need everything else.

overflow box, return pump, new lights, sand etc.

if anyone wants to like geek out and suggest some implements (I.E. what would you do?) id realllllllly appreciate it!

I have an overflow box. CPR. It was on my 50 gallon tank.

what prevents floods with that model?

im pushing through novice cababilities, and this tech stuff is all new to me.

Wish I could help, Bob, but I'm pretty new at this.

I can highly recommend LifeReef overflows.. they are expensive, but work really, really well. I use one on my 'fuge.. it overflows into my sump tub.

Crp overflow cs150 An aqua lifter with that.

sunpod (your choice) 2x150 or 2x250

aqua C remora.

also you might consiter bare bottem... If you have the Number of lbs you need for the Lr. The bare bottem tanks IMO are eazyer to keep clean... the bottem glass will cover with coraline and other cool colors.

as far as flooding. The Crp when used with a clean working aqua lifter will not overflow..
ive had the same overflow for 3 years, runing non stop, I replaced my return mag5 with a mag 7 and ive replaced the aqua lifter once.

as long as the power for the return and the power for the aqua lifter are both ran together its IMO safe.
(like if you have them wired on 2 diffrent powerstrips.. and one fails and the other doesnt)

what do you do during a power outage?

also, my typhoone blows the aqua c right out of the skimate.

BB seems like a plausable idea, though i do like the look and benfit of a DSB.

also, im looking into t5's right now.

anybody got a nice fixture in mind that runs between $200-$300?

Bob I use this fixture on my 55 and I love it. The timers are built right into the light and the fan is very quite.

jeez, so like yea, ive been planninig on running 10+watts per gallon w/ whatever i do get, but now, seems watts dont mean squat?

sooooooo, i want to be able to keep anything and everything in this tank.

what um, qualifications should i be considering for a 29 GAL AGA?

what, AFA lights? I dunno, I think PEMfish has a good handle on the lighting thing... I've found my foray into SPS with a 14K 150 watt MH and a 2 foot deep tank with SPSs about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up, decent flow, is just OK. Montis are easy. The rest just kinda hang out, no impulse to grow too much...

Since you have been so intimate with electricity I think you should do a retrofit T-5!

Throw the CPR overflows under the next passing truck before they introduce you to the Wet Carpet Club...
If you want an overflow, buy the best one on the market...LIFEREEF. They're costly, but IMO, worth every penny. Anytime an overflow depends on a pump to maintain its siphon, it's only a power outage away from a flood.
