| Plate Coral | Need NARROW skimmer I’m looking for a NARROW algae scraper. I have the Kent Marine 3” model with the detachable heads. I know they make a 1” wide head, but the body of the stick is still 3” wide and doesn’t fit in some tight spaces of my tank. Any ideas on who makes a 1” or 2” wide one? |

| Do I look as lost as I am ![]() | Re: Need NARROW skimmer Try Nimble Nano Home I have at LEAST one of these in all four of my tanks. I even had him CUSTOM make one for my 90g that I freaking LOVE!! Just beware... his magnets are SILLY kind of strong!! ![]()
__________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!! Sorry, I meant SCRAPER, NOT skimmer !!In any case, I already have a couple of those nimble nanos and I LOVE 'em!! Problem is, I want to clean the back plastic chamber wall of my AquaPod 24 which is inside the tank (not accessible from the back). For that I will definitely need a scraper on a wand/stick, and so far all I can find are 3" wide models... Thx John | |

| Social Darwinism victim | Re: Need NARROW skimmer You can make one... get one of those plastic scrapers from home depot or somewhere, like a small spatula or paint scraper, then superglue or even rubberband some rough aquarium sponge to it, wrap it over the top and walaa!! You could use other types of material too, just make sure it's safe for whatever you're scraping.
