| Manta Ray | Acrylic Thickness according to GARF 1/2" is sufficient for a 300g tank: http://www.garf.org/tank/BuildTank.asp This doesnt make since to me but I did learn that TrueVu 300g aquariums are only 1/2" thick as well!! make any sence? I'm going to make me a 300g tank or maybe buy one |

| Smile Maker | Re: Acrylic Thickness I'm not a big fan of acrylic tanks. I'm also not a big fan of bow fronts, so I can't comment on the link. I think they get away with 1/2 acrylic because there are no seems, acrylic tanks are cast as one piece. All the best though. |

| Torch coral | Re: Acrylic Thickness When figuring the required material thickness for an aquarium the total volume is meaningless.What matters is how tall the aquarium is.The taller the tank the more load per square foot.If your 300 gallon is 20" tall and you build it out of 1/2" cool.If it's 36" tall make sure you don't live over me before you fill it or we'll both have a REALLY bad day! John
