I Got a Leak!

OK, Barb, no wet spot joke.

My tank is up and running, but I have a slow leak on the pressure line in the back. (this is unrelated to the TEE I had to re-solvent yesterday). Pro-lem is, it is 100+ gallons against the wall, and before I try to slide it out and reassemble the pressure line, does anyone have any great ideas?

I figure butter and red meat coated my arteries....I could try to buld up some tank-schlerosis.... or what was that stuff people used to put in their gastanks to friction coat their engine cylinders / valves?

there is a plumbers tape, it looks like black electricians tape but its almost all rubber, you pull it and stretch it and wrap the joint, works real good

I also found a putty that works like plumbers tape - comes in a tube - I'll see if I can find it and give you a name brand...

OK. All I gotta do now is run out to the hardware store and get plumers tape, bring in my jack from the car, and start jacking....

I will have to see if the plastic furniture sliders I put under my tank pay off.

Has anyone else used this? Is there a reson I should do tape instead?

Hmmmm. Aquamend. Recommended for use with coral as well. Anyone tried this?

i have a great putty that hardens likea a rock, just because i'm paranoid i would use that and plumber's tape to hold it in place and you have it reinforced

i would use the tape first then if you have a problem then use the epoxy. because once the epoxy is used that is it your done.
