Water Movement In 90G

Still working on the 90G and today's question is water movement.
The tank has been drilled for CL. The folks at the LFS think that the CL should be used only to run a spay bar in the rockwork and that I should run PH's on a wavemaker for current action.
1. Do you agree?
2. How do you get movement down low in the water column without stirring up the DSB?
THANKS!!!!!!

1. I don't agree. You can use part of it as a spray bar, but you can connect a couple of the outlets to some sea-swirls to get randomized current in the tank... a somewhat expensive option, but still an option nonetheless.
I run powerheads instead of a CLS, but if you got the CLS already, I don't see the wisdom of only using it as a spraybar.

2. The eternal question.
I don't worry about down low flow very much... the flow from the powerheads that are up high deflects down the glass, then runs back across the sand, lifting up any detritus, which normally is pretty light... the meaty detritus gets consumed by my nassarius and hermits.

HTH.

reefer addict,
I asked the 2nd question based on what I see in my 30G mini.
I have a dead spot or 2 low down in the corners, where the PH's dont hit. That's where I have trouble with cyano. If I hit it with a PH it disappears, usually within HOURS!!!!
