| Scopas Tang | Well yesterday I got a really nice Acro. It was yellow with green polyps. I was observing it and notice some crabs were on there. I than took the Acro out of my tank and dipped it in fresh water. the crabs ran out, 3 large ones and 6 small ones. Well I placed the acro back in my tank and it began to release lots of slime. Today it looks like its bleached. Any hope of saving it? |

Did you adjust the temp and ph of the FW to match that fo your tank? It is more likely the temp/ph change that stressed it enough to bleach rather than the FW. I employ both FW dips and Logols dips when I get new acros, the only issue I've ever had was with an acro that got a very radical lugols dip, in reaction to a red bug infestation of the frag, it didn't quite bleach, but went from a deep teal green to a dull tan in the 10 - 12 minutes it was in the bath, it has almost fully recovered, but it has been a couple of months ![]() | |

| the wood dude ![]() | i just talked to one of the guy's at one of the lfs i go to, the same place jay [t devil] got his new acro from and he was showing me the crabs in all of the acros they had so i dont think there a bad thing to have with them. he said they were good at cleaning the acro of dead tissue and such. but he could be wrong lets see what everyone else has to say.hth.
