| Plate Coral ![]() | I know that Bob Fenner over at www.wetwebmedia.com is a huge fan of these, but I personally have never tried it. I think that you have to raise the temp to your tank temp and buffer the water to the appropriate pH. Keep the fish in this water for about 5-10 minutes(?) I think. Supposed to be good at getting rid of parasites and other unwanted things from the fish. Anyone else out there use this method?

| Contributing Member ![]() | I have dipped many fish at the LFS and it works well. De-chlorinate tap water. Same temp at the tank water. I never FW dip longer then 3 minuets. That being said I prefer using Formalin and just dip in a bucket of tank water. ALL my fish get dipped prior to going in the tank. I acclimate in a 5G bucket and once I’m done adding my tank water to the LFS water. I add 2 Tsp. Per Gal of formalin. The fish stays in the bucket for 20 minuets and the is released into the tank. Here is a good read on it…. http://216.168.47.67/cis-fishnet/seascope/99SS1601.htm HIH S

| Contributing Member ![]() | BTW I never add this to even a fish only tank. I do dips only. I also watch the fish the whole time during the dip. It's strong stuff.
