| Tuxedo Urchin ![]() | I drip a gal of kalk nightly to keep my pH from dropping overnight. I recent began mixing the kalk powder with vinegar before diluting with water and I intend to continue to do so. I'm not a chemistry buff, but the articles I read made me think it was worth trying and so far no downside that I can see.

| Tuxedo Urchin ![]() | Just an FYI EK, I mix 2 teaspoons Kent kalk powder with 30 ml distilled white vinegar and add to 1 gal RO/DI water. There are a couple different ratios suggested in that article. I'd start low and increase as you get more comfortable with it. I know someone who only uses 4 ml vinegar to 1 teaspoon kalk. What size is you tank?

| Tuxedo Urchin ![]() | So what're you thinking EK, about 4 ml vinegar to your 1/4 t kalk? Or do you mix larger batches?

| Tuxedo Urchin ![]() | Do you have a pH monitor EK? I'd be very nervous dripping into a tank that small, but it seems like you've got it under control!
