Thousans Of Tiny White Snails!!

Hello all,

I haven't been on in a while. I have noticed in the last few weeks that deep into the night my AquaPod 24 seems to be "overtaken" with literally thousands of little white snails. The snails are only about 1/8" in diameter, almost round, almost pure white, and very fast. One night I turned on the daylighst and they "scurried" (well, as fast as a snail can) under rock overhangs and such.

I don't have a pic yet but is my reef tank in trouble? During the day I cannot find a single one, yet at night it is like an invasion. Are these things coral eaters?

Thanks
John

Those are my magical cleanup crew.
It's like a merry maid service.
Just send $49.95 in cash or palpal to my swiss bank account
and enjoy the clean. lol

Miniature turbo snails. Not baby turbos, but a mini variety.
Thats what it sounds like. Of course without pics I can't be certain.

Completely harmless and great cleaners for those hard to reach places.

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: Thousans Of Tiny White Snails!!

I have the exact same things in my tank. They mysteriously appeared one day but I wasn't too worried about it because I saw an absence of algae in its trail.

Nikki have you noticed any "Late Night" lights from the sky? Sometimes if you're awake you can see the "Mother ship" dropping them off in your tank...

Ironically, I have seen some lights in the night lately but I just figured it was the high school's soft ball field. Good to know it was you dropping off goodies in my tank instead.
