Skimmer Choice

I have a 75gal sw tank with a 20-30gal sump with a trickle down and 150lbs of live rock, 60 lbs live sand.
I took out the bio balls from the trickle down side the added small peices of live rock. I have an excalibur in-sump skimmer on the other side next to the return pump(mag 12). I also have a ball of macro algae in this side.

I am looking to try a different skimmer( curiousity killed the cat).

I have looked at Berlin, ASM, and turboflators.
What would be the best skimmer for this setup?
Thank you.

Re: Skimmer Choice

Seriously. I purchased my entire sump system from LifeReef. He makes a skimmer as well. I was a little leary of it at first as it is basically a simple venturi design. However after talking to Jeff about it it made a lot of sense.

All it uses is a mag to power it. It is super easy to tune, then set and forget. No proprietary pumps to it to fail, no constant adjustments, no mods needed, and it has a self cleaning venturi. He sells in and out of sump models.

Several people on the boards use them with excellent results. I really do think that many people have been caught up with gimmicky skimmers. Check out JFK's chronicle - which is still my favorite tank on the site (JFK, where did you go anyway?)
