| Frequent lurker ![]() | Mounting frags I have a couple of frags that I cannot get to stay put. One is a small piece of rock with some large ricordia on it. The other is a piece of rock with zoanthids on it. I have tried loctite superglue gel, but I have not had any luck getting them to stay. What else is recommended to hold these in place? Is there a good reef safe epoxy that can be used? I would prefer something that can be used underwater so I do not have to dismantle my aquascaping to get them in place.

| Totally back ![]() | Re: Mounting frags Depending on the size of the rock, epoxy usually works well. I use a two part epoxy called Aquamend. You can find it at Home Depot for pretty cheap. when using the epoxy to attach stuff keep in mind you don't really use it as an adhesive, but put a big chunk in the rock and mold it into the crevices and really push the rock into the epoxy, once it hardens it holds the rock, as opposed to adhering to the surface of the rock.

| Just some guy, you know? | Re: Mounting frags I always use super glue gell (the locktite kind) for this sort of thing,.. I put a bunch of it on the rock (A good size ball of it) then put it underwater, quickly moving it to the spot on the rock where I want it. Now remember, the glue forms a "Shell" right when it hits the water (SW makes it dry instantly) so I put it on the rock and wiggle it around until that shell is broken and the wet glue underneeth can bond to the rock in the tank. Whiskey

| Golden Moray | Re: Mounting frags I use stockings. I cut a section of stocking out, wrap it around the mushroom or ric and the rock; tie it off on the side and in a couple days and when I take it off, they are attached. Make sure that it is not too tight, just snug enough to keep it in place.
