| 8 left feet... | Re: glass drill bits help I ordered and used the exact same one. It worked great for 3 holes! I didn't need or try to drill any more than that, but I've still got the bit.

It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%. Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!! | Golden Moray | Re: glass drill bits help ok, thanks for the help everyone. i followed yall advice and held out. Cracker gave me a good idea, make a circle of play-do around the area to be drilled then fill it with water before drilling. it worked great for him, but since i'm enlarging holes the water would drain out. i was thinking of letting the water hose run on top of the drilling area. any other ideas? Oh, i will be going to HD to find those bits today.

| 8 left feet... | Re: glass drill bits help The carbide bits at HD made me nervous, but I guess others have used them. I used the one from hong kong with no problems and poured glass cutting oil (also available at HD) on it as I went.

| Totally back ![]() | Re: glass drill bits help I did try the carbide bits a while back from HD to drill out some 10 and 20 gallon tanks. I cracked the first one, but after that I got the hang of it. I purchased some plumbers putty and made a reservoir and filled it with water and kept flooding it with water from a bicycle water bottle to keep the glass shavings from falling back into the area getting cut Using your hose just to dump water on the area should work fine, still make the dam around the area you are cutting to let the water build up a bit. Oh and I was told to put tape on the backside of wherever I was drilling to help prevent the glass from breaking apart when it fell out.
