ETSS Not Skimming

Ok, is it something I should be concerned about? I followed the manufactures directions to the "T" on the installation and break-in period and still no real skimmate to report. I have a beautiful white milky bubble consistency in teh chamber and I've even adjusted the water level in the skimmer and still no "real skimmate. I'm wondering if my bio-load is to light for the skimmer to perform at its most efficient level as yet. Any input would be appreciated.

how long does the skimmer works...1-2 days????

it may take up to a week for it to dao anything else. I would wait it out & see what happens

It's been up and running on a stocked tank for a little over a week but patience is a virtue in this hobby.

Need a pic, sounds like an air issue to me, a two day old tank will show some green in the soup

I've got plenty of bubbles and foam and it has pulled some skimmate, I think I had the water level set to high as I am still learning the skimmer. My airline is clear and it is 3/4 tubing when I get a chance I will take a pic (bettery charging)

By the way has that SPS frag grown out that I gave you? I'd love to get a piece if so seeing as the parent colony perished when my salinty went of tnhe charts.

yeap, its growing like crazy now. i have pieces of it everywhere. dude i have to tell you, my stupid angel killed my scotts. i seen it chasing him like crazy so i tore up the tank and put egg creating as a divider. went to D.C. and went i got back the egg creating feel, foundout the stupid snails pushed it over. the wrasse was so bet up, i tore the tank up some more trying to catch that angel but ended up putting in the egg creating again this time clipped it in place, the corals are to big to bunch up on one side. anyway the wrasse was too beat up and died a week or two later, i am still pissed at that stupid angel, can not wait to transfer the corals so i can torment her before trading her in. i ordered another cooks island, not as bright as the first though. that stupid angel was cool for a week then started in on the new wrasse, i was ready though and the new scotts is dong fine, eggcrateing still in there. anyway i have a few pieces, soon as i get my 180gal all set and start moving corals in, i will have a bunch of frags for you

Dude I'm sorry to hear. The angel always seemed a pretty good tank mate every time I was over, wonder why he snapped like that. It could have been "mad angel disease"...lol. Anyway good luck on the new one.

you know when i look back she even messed with the australian wrasse i had. she is real good and mellow with all the others, even one added well after her. i think she just hates wrasses. because your right she has always been great and still is with all other type fish.

so is the skimmer looking any better?

Yeah the skimmer is looking much better I just think that it needs time to break in.

dont you just love the tinkering

i think i read somewhere they needed a little more tinkering with to setup than most, maybe just different tinkering, but once set its good to go.

Yeah I would agree with the tinkering part but it sure is nice to have a skimmer that can handle your stocking demands.
