| Acropora | Phoshate in well water Hi all: I'm gearing up for my pending arrival of my tank and sump, and started testing my well water. I had a very successful fowler 10 years ago and I simply used water right from my well w/o any problems at all. I tested the water for phosphate today and it read .1 ppm. I assume this is pretty low but I wonder if it is typical for well/tap/drinking water to read zero? |

| Tiger Shark | Re: Phoshate in well water That is pretty normal. I have clients that are on wells & they can have anything from ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphte, coper etc. It is always best to use a RO/DI unit with a well to ensure nothing even hard metals reaches your tank JMO

| Fuzzy Sticks ![]() | Re: Phoshate in well water Here in the south the well water contains a lot of iron and such. I would ro/di it before useing for a reef tank.
