| Manta Ray | Reef safe? I see this question alot. So If you have it, this is the place. I have one to start. Ceramic tile. I bought a 8" and broke it up. I am using 2 1" pieces for for frag plugs with no ill effect. But what about putting all the tile pieces in the sump?

| Reef Shark | Re: Reef safe? The actual ceramic itself should be fine. But the glaze on the surface may cause a problem I am not sure what is in the glaze. Also ceramic tiles will absorb water. If you went with a color body porcelain tile I think that it may be more "reef safe". These tiles have no glaze and are suitable for outdoor use as they do not absorb water like the ceramic tiles. Just my thoughts. ~Michael

| Manta Ray | Re: Reef safe? What about razor blades? I know you don't leave them in, and they are fine to use on the glass, but... They come packaged in protectant gel. The gel dose not come off when I try to rinse them. Is it ok or should I wash it off?

| Manta Ray | Re: Reef safe? Mighty Putty. It looks, acts, and is packaged very much like our ( reefers ) Hold Fast Epoxy Stick. Is it? Its sold cheaper under the Mighty name. Is it the same? Can it be use by us the same? Google Image Result for http://pet.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pPETS-3760204t400.jpg Super glue. Its been proven to be safe, but all the brands. All the variations. Witch one exactly do you use with success? I have used it before but forget the exact one and am paranoid.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Reef safe? Use the super glue gel. It sets a lot better and is easier to work with. I don't have any answers on the others except to say that the tiles would be pretty dense so I don't think they would be very good for biological filtration. I do have several frags attached to small pieces and those seem perfectly fine.
