Is starphire glass worth it.

On the new 60g cube I'm ordering I have the option of starphire on the front for an extra $150. Does it really make that big of a difference? Is it really worth it?

Yes, not as much in the smaller tanks...but as you go larger it makes an enourmous difference.
the choice is ultimately yours. Ask yourself if it makes up a large percentage of the total cost of the tank would it be worth it.

sometime when you get a custom tank, you have the option to choose what type of glass it will be made of

Starphire is just a brand name for a low iron glass. Oceanic and other custom tank builders us it in their tanks.

Get starphire. It makes a huge difference. Look through a pane of starphire, then look through regular glass. The regular glass is like looking through sunglasses. I just got it on the front and side of my 240. Worth EVERY PENNY>~Michael

There is also a difference in color between Starphire and regular glass.
Starphire has less of a green tinge.

I love my Oceanic 90g tech tank. Starfire glass reallymakes a difference in the color and clarity. I can see myself easily getting it on any/all future tanks.

Honestly I don't think ANYONE has ever regretted GETTING staphire glass. I know people (points to SELF) who HAS regretted NOT getting it on tanks before. It's worth the small additional amount it costs.

Be carefull... not all Starphire is "Starphire".

Oceanic has a low lead glass, but is not true Starphire.

If the edge of you glass panel is not BLUE in color... then it's not Starphire.

I'd never go back to green glass or acrylic again...
