calcium reactor

can somebody explain exactly how these work? like with the co2 and stuff? and how do you buff out the alkalinity?

I can't explain exactly how they work but will tell you what I know. The reactor is filled with a coral skeleton based substance. CO2 is injected into the system to bring the PH down to 6.5-6.8.. This causes the coral to disolve releasing calcium, magnesium and alkalinity buffering agents in proportionate amounts. This disolved mixture is then dripped into the tank at a controlled rate.

I don't know much about the coralife reactor.

I havnt heard much about the coral lifes. I always here good things about Korallin and My Reef Creations.

i was actually looking at one today, not cheap, but i have heard great things, need to watch out for the lowering of ph as mentoned above.
I decided to drip Kalk, as it has a similar effect with better reslts as far as ph goes, and its much much much cheaper
