| Plate Coral | Lighting Hello everyone, I'm new around these parts. Just thought I would leave my first thread with a few questions. I'm looking to light my 65g with this fixture. VHO 36" 630W Metal Halide Reef light Aquarium Lighting - eBay (item 160195864620 end time Jan-11-08 11:36:33 PST) has anyone ever used one of these or heard anything on them? Thanks everyone. Adam |

| Reef Lobster | Re: Lighting IMHO, the price is good, but note the shipping costs are $69.99 flat rate. That's way out of line and a big chunk of that can be considered "additional profit" to the seller. Obviously for $299.99, you are not going to get electronic ballasts, or premium bulbs. I'd upgrade the ballasts, since the savings in electricity will pay for the ballasts in a year or two. Plus, everything will run cooler. The electronic ballasts will cost you almost as much as the fixture. I would also mount the fixture by suspending it. Using those tank brackets is a sure way to drop the whole fixture |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Lighting I don't see a brand name. I would be very suspicious. Sounds like it could be aquatraders under another new name. At the very least I would ask questions about the brand of the unit, ballasts, and bulbs. Things that sound too good to be true ususally are.
