Bubble Algae Gone!

Wow....Last night I asked you all how to get rid of bubble algae and I was happy to get the responses as usual. Well this morning, I went to the store and picked up a tube of super glue gel. When I got home and was ready to remove the algae, one of my snails parked itself over the small cluster of bubbles and is going to town on the stuff as we speak. It seems like every day there is something new that just impresses me again and agian. I wish I started this hobby a long time ago. Thanks for the advice, I will keep the glue and use it for something else.

Re: Bubble Algae Gone!

Take notice as he may actually rupture one of two of them in the process. I'm glad to hear that it's leaving "naturally" as that's almost always better than the alternative ways. Keep us posted (Pics would be GREAT here )

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Wow. I have never heard of snails eating the bubble algae. Guess you just got lucky with the snail. Cool!

I reckon if you starve them enough they think Bubble Algae tastes like chicken too

Re: Bubble Algae Gone!

I guess I never thought about it like that. Am I starving them? What can I do to make sure they have plenty to eat? I clean the green algae daily on my glass. Maybe I should leave a little for them. Maybe I have to many in my CUC.

Re: Bubble Algae Gone!

lol, this is great, i have found out that mine will eat almost anything, i have a in-tank skimmer setup, so i woke up this morning and one of my "ninja" nassarius snails went up into the skimmer and started cleaning around, the only thing i have ran into is my mongolian puffer trys to eat them... good luck

Re: Bubble Algae Gone!

Oh I was just being silly. I didn't mean to insinuate you were starving them at all. I'm pretty much of a clown and cutting up.. don't take it that I was being critical at all

Re: Bubble Algae Gone!

Well this will be my last thread posting with Reef Sanctuary. I thought that you guys were here to help, not make fun of new reefers. I cant help it that I am not a veteran to this hobby like BigAl07. There are alot of us that realy depend on and look forward to getting help and advice from the pros. You should be proud of that and take it like a compliment. Instead you use it as an opportunity to make jokes. You were all beginners at one point. So goodbye to everyone. Maybe I will get through this and keep my corals alive. If they die, I want everyone to know it was BigAl's falut.

P.S. Just kidding. I like to cut up and joke around also!!!!! I did not take anything you said personal. Have a good one.
