Live Rock in My Canisters

Hello all. I have a 1yr old 55g saltwater tank running 3 fluval filter canisters.
I've been thinking of switching out my filter media out of canisters and replacing it with live rock.
Has anyone ever heard of such thing...
I would love to hear opinions/feed back on this...

Although i haven't heard of it being done in a canister yet, It would be a good idea IMO. I have live rubble stuffed in a hang on back filter in a little 10g, and it works just great.

You may get some detritus accumulation in there, but monthly cleaning should take care of it. I can't see a reason it won't work.

i think it would be fine. like said above the ony real worry would be detritus build up. but why do you want to do this???

ya i dont see why not, What i would do is every week or so right b4 doing my water change pick the can up moveing it around so that the rock tumbles dislodgeing most of the stuff (u will see a bunch of crud come flying in 2 your tank,

do the water change, then let it clear up...

i would not change all 3 of the cans to Lr at once....

maybe one a month? or every 3 weeks?

how has the tank been running to date? why the thought of change....addage if it aint broke, why fix it.
