| Midas Blenny | Aquasafe RO/DI on ebay any good? I was browsing through ebay, and am considering getting an ro/di unit. I was wondering if the ones listed on ebay are any good? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tegory=46 310 My toher question though is how easy is it to hook up, and where do most people hook it up to? If my tank isn't near a faucet, how hard would it be to set it up using a float switch, so the whole thing is auomatic?? Thanks! Last edited by Electrobes : 02-23-2004 at 10:55 AM. |

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | I havea 100GPD unit from them and I really like the unit. I did have a couple issues with the unit, first they send the installation instructions and warrently via e-mail. There are no care instructions that come with it and the installation instructions aren't that great! Second issue was with the: 1) Needle piercing fresh water feed clamp for quick and E-Z mess free installation ![]() It didn't work with the pressure in my lines and I had to buy a new sadle clamp from Home Depot for it. (A relatively inexpensive part, $8CND) Now that the unit is up and working, I am very pleased with it. It takes my tapwater from a tds of 160-180ppm down to 0 to 1ppm As for attaching it romotely to your sump, you'll need to talk to someone else. I have mine setup under my sink and just carry the water over to my tank when I need to add any.

| Contributing Member ![]() | I've never seen anyone that was unhappy with an aquasafe RO/DI. If you want to hook it up for auto top off, you will need a bladder tank so the RO doesn't keep going off and on. Or you could simply fill a rubbermade garbage can and rig it to be your auto top off ![]() From what I've seen they are fairly easy to hook up, but if you are in an apt, you might consider a faucet adapter, landlords don't really like it when you punch holes in their plumbing ![]() |
