I'M Bare Bottom

well it was a fun afternoon, i ripped out my DSB. i friend finally got me to do it, i had been planning on doing it for awhile now, and i just needed the shove to do it....thanks Nikki...i dont hate you any more....lol

first i filled a tub with the livestock and as much water as it would hold.

well...alot of scooping and scooping and some more scooping. then sucked out the last of the water, then soaked it dry with towels..

then the fun part,,,redoing the tank with all the livestock...i also had to add about 30g of fresh salt mix...

Hey Wit ..... one small step for man, one big step for witfull. Nice job though bud, it takes a lot of courage to tear down a tank and do something like that. I've only got a shallow sand bed (1/2 to 1") and was think of just taking a few cups of sand out a day over a 2-3 weeks period / thus reducing the stress on the fish / tank and allowing the levels to auto adjust themselves to life without sand ..... what do ya reck'on ....

good job witt. did you use anything on the bottom of the tank?

Did you remove the DSB cause of DSB associated problems, or as a preventative of them?

both, i was getting a patch of cyno and the amout of crud that was accumulating in it was not good, i do vigilent regular maintainence, but, it was a septic tank deep down,,,lol
