| Wannabe Guru ![]() | I want to get a new skimmer and I'm thinking about the turbofloater because of it's versatility. As of right know I don't have a sump so I need a HOT skimmer but will eventually buy a new tank with sump and only want to buy once. My question is what type of pump would you recommend ? They sell them with a German pump or the Ocean Runner PH 2500 and the price difference is about $40. Anyone have any experience with this skimmer ? http://oceanencounter.com/Merchant2/...tegory_Code=AM http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...Code=Aquamedic

| Reef Lobster | Cheeks, I run a Turbofloater Shorty 5000 with an Ocean Runner 3500 ..... I can't recommend it highly enough. Fantastic bit of kit and totally overskims my water. Gotto love it. Plumbing is easy and the setup is reliable and constant. I pull 1" of dark brown skim every day. Brucey

| Reef Lobster | Cheeks / It's down to personal choice matey. We get them in Europe a lot cheeper I guess than in the States. An OR3500 would be about $100 over here. Not sure how that compares to what you can buy for or what other choices you have. All I can say is I've had 3 OR3500's and I have just bought an OR6500 and have never cleaned them nor ever had a days trouble with them, so yes I recommend them but then I have no experience with the other makes more readily available to you guys. | The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Cheeks69.. it looks like the pump is the exact same for both the links you gave. Atleast the picture provided shows the same things..... Maybe one is just more expensive than the other due to the supplier? Aren't the Ocean Runner pumps German made? ![]()
