I think I am going to get some mud from Lake Calumet near Chicago and put that in my refugium. I am hoping to produce six inch pods and talking bristle worms.

As for miracle mud, the same can be said about the salt mixture that we use.

"It's full of trace elements".

All these muds really are just silty substrates for rooting plants to ground in. I use Mineral Mud in a basket for my mangrove tree to root in. It grows well in it. There exactly what the name imply. MUD! Just some dude got smart and put 'Mineral' and 'Miracle' in front of it and bottled it.

Miracle Mud, I had a thought, probably not a great one but, what if the usage of MM is incorrect? there is some indication of help for lateral line disease, so, what if the ro/di water was run thru the MM before storage so all you have is MM in a filter housing with ro/di going thru it, no contaminants, would the aggressive nature of ro water dissolve the useful ingredients into the water column avoiding the changeouts needed as a substrate?
