| WOLVERINE~ ![]() | Re: Myth Busters! fact? or fiction? as long as its not bull bile,,,i wont raise a majpr fuss ( dont want another lawyer letter) purple up is a product that contains the catch words that young hobbyists are keen to see,,,calcium, iodine, improve, advanced.....etc. they have heard/read these words but have yet to comprehend the true meaning. and products like this are there to prey on this. a picture of a glorious tank,,,,read our words,,,,lots of impresive ones, we sound like we know what we are doing (and we do,,,its to separate you from your money)

| Golden Moray | Re: Myth Busters! fact? or fiction? Fiction. Used it once. No notice of faster growth, but I did however, have a cyano outbreak shortly after dosing it. (Could have been from anything though) Jason

| Brunt of all Jokes~ | Re: Myth Busters! fact? or fiction? Purple Up is MYTH! a dubious additive or wallet depletive, adding both iodine and calcium without knowing your current levels is a gamble, hands on experience shows that water with the proper ratio of calcium, alkalinity and magnesium will never require the purchase of this product, save your money and buy more test kits***please note*** there is no intention to belittle the manufacturer or users of this product it is simply not a requirement for growing coralline algae.

| Angel Girl's Daddy ![]() | Re: Myth Busters! fact? or fiction? Looks like that thing i catch out of the corner of my eye when leafing through aquatic magazines! I wonder what is inside it? Makes me feel like a kid with his first wet fire cracker and a knife in hand.

| Neon dottyback | Re: Myth Busters! fact? or fiction? A good point! This product was such an obvious scam that I am surprised that many major aquarium magazines ran their advertisement. As I recall, and my memory may be off on this, one known author even gave it a modest endorsement, saying that the water looked clearer. Things like this make me skeptic, doubting most of the information published in the hobby level publications. |
