Clown w/ spots sick?

I've noticed some new black spots on the side of our female clown. They do not appear to be open sores, nor does the fish seem otherwise troubled in behavior. I think there was one spot on her side when she joined the tank several months ago, but now there are a few more. What's up? Any ideas? Water params are good and stable. I do weekly 5 gal water changes.

My male perc has a spot on his right side since the day he was introduced into my tank a year ago. Looks like a mole. No problems with it so far

My wife has a pair of percs with the black spots and they have been there a long time and the clown is doing just fine. What the spots represent I have no idea.

Mine have the same thing... I think they're the equivalent of freckles.
The clowns don't try to 'itch' them off, so I doubt it's 'black ich'.
