Torch Coral

Hi. I'm new to this but I just bought my first coral. I have a 29 gal bio cube, and my question is it doesn't look to good. It's not as full as it was @ the LFS the tentacles or whatever they are look more wilted than full. I asked them if I had to do anything as far as feeding them and they said no just give them 10hrs of light. But I keep reading that you have to feed them. I brang a sample of my water in and they said everything was good to go. I added my first clown with the coral. and put in 5 hermit crabs. I'm just trying to find out what's wrong!

Re: Torch Coral

Don't panic just yet.
When I bought my torch it sulked for a good week.
Looked so puny.

They are photosynthetic and will feed themselves quite nicely using only the light. They will also grab meaty foods like most corals will. Small Krill or silversides will do. Be patient. Give it time to adjust to it's new surroundings.

p.s. - what kind of lights do you have him/her under? Depending on your lighting they may need more additional feedings.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Re: Torch Coral

You can get timers that you can plug the moonlights into and set an on and off time for them. They should be easy to find now, many people use them for their Christmas lights. Home Depot, Lowes etc.

If your 10,000 and Actinics have different plugs you can do the same thing to them.

I have my actinics start 1 hr before and go 1 hr after my 14,000 main lights are running. It to simulate sunrise and sunset.
