Ideas for this BC29

well my uncle's bio cube will be here this sat.I need some suggestions.First i was thinking of just takeing some establised LR from my tank and crushing it up and putting it in the back chamber instead of the trate balls.lol,Also it comes with the stock lights.what corals could i keep in their,he mainly wants zoos,and shrooms.but he was eyeballing some of my uphys.will they live in that light?

I'm thinking yes, but I don't know the wattage of your stock lights. Euphyllia doesn't need a great deal of light, moderate is best for them. Zoo should be fine, and most mushrooms are a deep water animal so moderate lighting works well for them too.

how large were you thinking of crushing it? I assume the back chamber is the overflow? If you do that I think you should probably put a serpent star in with it or it will accumulate detritus like crazy. Don't crush it so small the star can't get around in it.

I wanna say 36 watts,or 96.it was something with a six,give me a sec and ill go see.

Interesting,I was thinking maybey golf ball sized.or a little bigger.I just havent had to deal with bio balls,and ive read everywhere their trate traps.

Its a 10,000 k a actinic,both 36 watts

a little bigger, baseball size maybe to give the cleanup crew (the starfish) room to work.

should be fine for those animals over a biocube. did you say what size tank it is?

sorry for the questions but how deep is it? the reason I ask is that's a little over 2 watts/gallon which is minimal really. If the tank isn't very deep you should be fine. If it's over 20" deep you may look into more light.

It is 20.6! is that allright,ill prolly keep the zoas and shrooms down low and the uphies up high,what about a capenella kenya tree,mine has been droppin buds like rain here lately.Itll give me a good reson to give one away.lol

position them the way you said and you'll be fine. Most leathers can tolerate moderate lighting as long as they have supplemental feeding. A good phytoplankton additive (DT's) may be in order.

all righty.I think we'll order a 75 watt hqi viper or sunpod.He just told me he wants zoas,shrooms,hammer......and a anenome.with only a pair of percs.we'll wait a year for the nem.so that will give us some time

That's more than enough light. don't position the euphyllias directly under the MHs though, they like a more indirect lighting.
