Emerald Crabs & Bubble Algae

Hi,

I'm fairly new to reef keeping. I have a 4 month old 30 gallon reef aquarium with a 3 in base of live sand, 25+ lbs of live rock, a couple small coral colonies (mostly zoos and a toadstool), a yellow damsel, percula and peppermint shrimp.

I've been having some problems with bubble algae. My phosphates are fairly high even after a lot of attention (many water changes & filtration w/ phosguard).

I'm thinking of adding an emerald crab to try and take care of the bubble algae and liven up my aquarium.

Any thoughts? Will it outgrow a 30 gallon? Will it get along with the other livestock? Will it leave the coral alone?

Emerald crabs are a hit or miss chance when it comes to eating bubble algae. Other than that, if you are lucky enough to get one that will eat your bubble algae, they are model tank citizens. Its fun trying to find them and i have not yet noticed any agressive behavior or coral picking tendencies.
