IMO not pavona. Looks like and encrusting type of montipora to me. Very hard to tell from this pic. Can you post more?
Pavonia is more fuzzy then what is visible in the pic. Try to get a shot where the chromis isn’t in the focus point.

Congratulations on your first post and welcome! Nice to see you as well!

Another pic would be fabulous for the reasons sharks stated, and a few pics of those clams would be nice as well. Tank looks great!

here's a better pic but my cam is a pos, sorry. i wish i had a better one 'cause the coloration on this coral is AWESOME!

i also thought perhaps an encrusting monti because the polyps are soooo tiny(tinier than porites)! it never has a fuzzy look and is rough to the touch. when touched it fades in color alot becasue the tiny polyps retract i guess?

well whatever it is, pretty good for 20 bucks.

Psammocora, Cat's Paw coral

I finally came across a piece of this at Macna a few months ago. I put it fairly high in the back corner of my reef, and it does extremely well under moderate-high light and flow. I've also noticed that a branching hammer does not seem to affect it at all, since it has shown apparent growth in the hammer's direction, with no bare skeleton to show a battle scar.

Very Cool aqcuisition IMHO
Oh yeah, and I got mine for $25!

Tracked down a picture of mine showing it's location in relation to neighboring corals. My camera isn't any better, but this is one of the better shots I have.

Oh, wow, that's exactly it!!!! Thanks, Cos, you da man! I have looked and looked for hours literally and haven't found any pics that were exactly like mine, but yours. Cool.

I also located mine in high light and pretty high flow. It seems to like it but is a very slow grower.

Mine looks bigger than yours

Yeah, mine hasn't been the fastest growing either. Since Macna at beginning of Sept, I have not noticed any new growth on the coral at all. My piece is about 4" X 4" fwiw.
