Magnets

Can I use a magnet inside of my tank?
I want to use it to hold a frag rack.TIA

Lots of things in the tank can use magnets. I have a Hydor Koralia held up with a magnet, a Mag Float glass cleaner, and more.

I don't remember where I saw this but there is someone in the trade selling diferent size "reef safe" magnets out there just for that purpose. Shouldn't be too hard to find'em.

Most, if not all, magnets purchased for use within the tank are encased in waterproof plastic. Magnets are made of metal and are subject to corrosion.

You can go to your local hardware shop and get a can of the plasticote, either spray or dip, and coat the magnets making them safe.
