Help! Mushrooms spreading BIG time!

I have five different strains of mushroom corals in my 75-gallon tank. These guys have easily quadrupled in number during the past 2 months. I have some that are starting to invade my gorgonian colonies. How do I remove them, from places I don't want them to be, without ending up with smooshed mushroom bits all over my tank? Is there a way to get individual ones to just "let go?" The couple that I need to move have a tight hold on the rocks they are on.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Can you put the rock in a higher flow area or shaded under an overhang? I have had shrooms detach for both of those reasons.

A reef tank is like a race car. The faster you go the harder you crash.

Re: Help! Mushrooms spreading BIG time!

I can't really move the rock........it's on the top of the pile and the tank is filled with densely populated rock, making it next to impossible to move anything. It is in a difficult place to get a good current flowing on him (dead-center of the tank, facing the front), but I can try putting a powerhead on the front glass and directing the flow, best I can, against the invader. I hope the gorgonians can wait out the high current flow. :-)
Thanks
Bob
