Just saw something neat!

Hey I just turned on my lights and I always quickly survey the reef to see those little things that go "bump in the night" and I see an anemoe like creature on a rock that is perfectly clear with the exception of little pink tips or balls on the ends of the arms. It was very small, not over 1/4'' if that but shorlty after lights on it shrank down to so I can barely still see the pink tips.
Anyone ever see these?

REALLY! Its one of the cool things about the reef, yeah I like to look around when the moonlights are on too but when its totally black dark there are other things that come out you won't see otherwise so you have to look fast when the lights come up. I like to enjoy every aspect of the reef, its just plain fun.

I moved my peach barrium this morning because it just didn't seem happy where it was and when I lifted up the rock, a big ole worm floated away. Now my wife doesn't want to go into that room...

Never could quite understand that; does she think the worm is going to come out and get her? Hummm....

Re: Just saw something neat!

That's girls for you. My mom is scared of my freshwater red-claw crabs getting out of their tank. Anyways, I don't know if it's a glass anemone. It has pink tips? Most glass nems have green or clear tips. Could you get a picture?

I know what you mean, sometimes I think people lose sight of the fact that if it does get out it isn't going to make it into your bed or your shoes or chase you through the house...so funny...

Sounds to me like either a corynactis or psuedocorynactis. (aka ball-tip anemones)

Try a google image search on both to if you can find a match.

Edit:

Here ya go:

pseudocorynactis - Google Image Search

corynactis - Google Image Search
