orange monti cap for free,can i support it?

hey i just got a call from a guy hwo has a orange monti cap that is growing like a weed,He said if i drove about 25 miles he would give me a decent chunk for free,now me being me i just wanted to find out if i could support this species?I have a 75 gallon,20 gallon refugium,it has been established for two years,with two moves,It has been left alone since the last move,for about 5 6 months,I have 2 150 watt metal halides,2 65 watt pc's,I currently house,softies and lps no problem.so do u think i can support this?If so i have seen pepole glue theses to the sides of the tank.will this be ok,if so how do i do it?

You can keep this kind of sps NP with that lighting. You might loose the orange though over time. I would place it high after acclimating it to your lighting for a week. What kind of lighting is it coming from? I would also ask the dude what temp his setup is so you can know how long you need to acclimate it to your temp. I have seen Monti's just peel away from the skeleton from improper temperature acclimation.

Montis are one of the easier SPS & should be fine as everyone said. I have Monti caps 18" below the water with 150w MH & have lost no color & have great growth over the last 18 months.

I'd try cleaning off the coraline (if you have any), then find the flattest side of the frag and use super glue gel.
You might have to hold it for a few seconds... but the glue will set up under water.
