Sargassum Algae

Sargassum

Just cleaned my tank of this crap this weekend. I had become lazy and this stuff had took over my tank. I had some that towered up to the top of the water column!

My wife and her sister thought it looked cool, but this stuff just grows like crazy.

I noticed the area of rock when I pulled it before (3 months ago) hasn't grown back, so hopefully its that nuisance algae that is common in new tanks.

Did perform a water change as well (10 gallons). Prior to the change, all testing was in check. pH was a little low.. tested about 30 minutes after the lights came on..

didn't really think of taking a pic..

I have a small sprout of it in one of the corners.. I didn't get it out, because that is where my Lionfish wanted to hang out during my tank cleaning that night. Didn't want to disturb him too much

I could snap a photo of the small remaining amount.
