| Plate Coral  |  Silicate removal does anyone know of a good silicate removal product? i read that i should try something that is meant just for silicates (not phos and silicates...) i also read that a filter pad should work, but i dont know where to find one. i looked at a few stores but couldnt find anything....... thank you |

| Excellent Guesser :D   | Re: Silicate removal Are you trying to remove the diatoms? Someone mentioned an external filter of some sort to remove really small particles, but I haven't seen one in the area. Snails will eat diatom algae. Also reducing the light period helps too.

| Plate Coral | Re: Silicate removal are diatoms the same as brown algae? ive had bad experiences with snails and even if i leave the lights on for just a few hours they appear...thats why i asked if anyone knew of a good silicate removal product. im thinking about getting a PURA filteration pad to see if that works. |
