| Elegance coral | snowflake did the carpet dive omg last night i got home from work around 11:30 pm,did my nightly routine went over to the seventy five do my useall head count.sat and stare for an hour.u know how it is.....anyway i went to walk downstairs to go to sleep, and looked in my 55(its directly infront my bed..to stare while falling a sleep)the snowflake eal wasnt in his normal hideing spot..so i started looking at all possible locations.he was gone.i started looking around, not under the stand,or around it..then out the corner of my eye i seen his tale wiggling under my dresser..i picked him up and put him back in his home.i dont know how long he was out of their but when i put him back in u can tell he was dry.his skin began to shed.lol.he was laying on the bottom breathing heavily.almost gagging.well i went to sleep.woke up thismorning and he looked fine swimming around and such....he has been around for two years im glad i didnt lose him to the carpet gods.lol

| Tiger Shark | Re: snowflake did the carpet dive eels have slime coat just like all fish except sharks. When an eel is out of the water the slime coat gets hard just like it does on a crispy fish. The major difference is on the eel it locks the body moisture in. The pronblem with it is when you go to pick them up because you assume they are dead. The coat breaks the eels get really aggressive because they are fighting for their lives & bite any & everything
