| Elegance coral | Ick Treatments and Fragging ok so i just met a fellow aquarist that has a nice collection of zoas, colt and leather corals that are all grown out and ready to be fragged. He has used kick ich and his colt and leather hand seem to be thriving but some of the zoas seem to have closed up and have been that way for a month now after using kick ich. my question is could the frags have any kind of copper or bad medication because were going to trade some frags and i do not want to introduce any copper into my reef tank at all... im going to help him frag the colt and the leather hand and some zoas. now how i intend to frag the zoas is cutting the rock and not the physical zoas themselves... what do yall think? All thoughs will be rewarded!

| Wannabe Guru ![]() | Re: Ick Treatments and Fragging AFAIK kick ich doesn't contain copper but as is obvious with the reaction by the zoanthids no medication is truly reefsafe. I don't think that adding the zoa's to your tank will harm it and a change may actually be beneficial.

| Reef Lobster | Re: Ick Treatments and Fragging In my opinion, there is no reef safe medication. No matter what is printed on the bottle, no matter what the LFS says, never ever medicate a reef system period. Always remove the livestock in question and treat in a quarantine tank. The reef you save may be your own. |

| Golden Moray | Re: Ick Treatments and Fragging agreeded.... best to qt but like said a little change of things could help...... if there was copper i would think that the inverts would be dead... are zoo's inverts? i dont know.. but on the other hand qting might give you some time to observe the zoos and frags b4 entering your system
