where should i place my 1st mushroom?

well i did it i crossed over to reef.lol

hey i got a hood with two 175 watt metal halides and two 96 wattpc's

where would a good place be in the tank so it dont burn?low flow high flow?

please let me know

they were under 15,ooo k metal halides.now their under 10,000k metal halides...so close to the bottem in the shade?

I would say near the bottom until they acclimate to the lighting. Doesn't have to be shaded really. Just watch them and they will tell you where they are happy.

I had mushrooms under 250w 10K MH and they grew like mad so they can tolerate the lighting once they get used to it.

They are great first corals, just be aware that they may spread all over your tank.

Any of the leathers should be fine as well as zoanthids and palythoas.

If you want to go the LPS route, I'd suggest brain corals, or any of the Euphyllias(frogspawn, hammer and torch)

Bottom of the tank in relatively low flow until it adjustst to the lights. Then you can move it to mid tank.

ya the refside is awsome i love it and my fish love it to the maroon clow is 4 inches and he try's to lay on the pollip.got anything else he might possibly host?just called my brother and had him put it on the substrate,i hope he does spread...more free mushrooms.i like them

I agree low and if you don't want the tank to become overrun with mushrooms keep a close eye out as they will spread all over. I am currently fighting mushrooms in my tank as they are everywhere almost including the back glass and I even have random mushrooms floating around the tank at times.
