| Elegance coral | Fastest Growing corals i was reading up on what picking coral out of the ocean is doing to reefs and I want to help contribute to the population of reefkeepers that grow out coral and prune it to frag out and sell so that that one frag could perhaps help prevent one buyer buying a coral that was picked out of the wild... my question is, what are some of the fastest kinds of LPS SPS and Softies out there?

| Golden Moray | Re: Fastest Growing corals He means GSPs (Green Star Polyps). Most of your soft corals reproduce fairly rapidly without much effort. Your LPS and SPS are more difficult and require pristine water conditions and usually more light. Many of the more advanced hobbiests grow and frag corals of all types. I would say that at least 50% of the corals in my tank were obtained from fellow reef enthusiasts and are growing in my tank. I likewise frag my corals from time to time and pass along frags to fellow club members locally. Your goals are the same as many of ours and I commend you for your enthusiasm. Good luck with your efforts. |

| Smile Maker | Re: Fastest Growing corals With the proper tank conditions, Montipora capricornis grows pretty fast and is about the easiest to frag. |
