Re: Lighting for fuge.

I am. But you could also have the light in your fuge on when the main lights on your tank are off. I will experiment and see what works the best.

Re: Lighting for fuge.

If you light your fuge on either a reverse cycle from the main tank, or 24/7, it will help stabalize the PH of your main display.

Re: Lighting for fuge.

How will having it on a reverse cycle affect the PH? just wondering.

Re: Lighting for fuge.

when all your lights are out, your PH drops.. but leaving a light on, it will somewhat prevent the ph drop to an extent.

Re: Lighting for fuge.

I use a dual 18w pc from orbit. It fits on half of my 20 g fuge just right. I use the dual daylight bulbs which are 50/50 10,000K and 460 nm.

I put my lights on opposite of the show tank. I grow caulerpa and having the fuge on 12 hrs a day seems to help it grow. And my trates are at 0ppm.

However, some have said that if you go 24/7 caulepa will not seed. I don't have a problem with that cause I sell the stuff to the LFS every 3 months and thin the stuff down to almost nothing.
