Neon goby and tang question!

Hey all,

I have 3 neon gobies and 3 yellow tangs, seems like each goby has their own tang that they clean. They have a few spots of ich on them right now and the neon gobies seem to love it but the only thing is that when the gobies go on to the tangs to get the ich off it seems like it is hurting the tangs. When the goby goes down to get a spot the tang immediately swims away like it hurt. Is this normal or is there something else that is going on here that I dont know about?

Thanks,

Matt

Re: Neon goby and tang question!

It probably does hurt if they are removing an embedded cyst.

I have noticed that my neon gobies like to eat nori as well as my homemade mush. When I add fresh nori to the clip, they both rush over and bite of pieces. They must have strong mouths to pull off pieces like they do....

Re: Neon goby and tang question!

I have not figured out where to buy nori yet. But yeah i guess it would hurt, but does this cause the tangs to stress and get more ich?

Re: Neon goby and tang question!

You can usually find nori sheets in the oriental food section of your local grocery store. If you have a grocery that sells sushi, you can usually find nori sheets nearby. Make sure you get the kind that is just seaweed, and doesn't contain anything else like soy sauce.

You can also order it online via the net. An internet search will bring up lots of sites.
