| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Sea Horse IMO it is. Not sure about the scientific classificatiin but it seems to fit what I know. If you are planning to get one please check out their requirements as they have very special needs like a species tank at much cooler water than we usually keep. Lot of other differences in care as well.

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | Re: Sea Horse Yes seahorses are fish they belong to the family Syngnathidae which covers seahorse and pipefish in the order Syngnathiformes (Seahorses and Pipefish) which is in the class Actinopterygii (ray-finned fishes). I can definately understand why you would question it because at first glance they don't seem to have very much in common with the traditional fish shape we are used to. When I was younger I used to have a hard time thinking of eels as fish rather then the snakes they reminded me of so much.
