Re: Movie of my tank

Tank looks like a clean start. I'm a bit concerned about the tang and angel. Bi colored angels require a good bit of sponge in their diets and don't have the best survival rates in a home aquarium. The tank is ok for your yellow tang right now but I also feel that it's not enough room when the fish grows. I also am not a big fan of anenomes (because they tend to move around) as they can get into some real fights with corals. Also, most of the time clown fish will not host condys.

Re: Movie of my tank

well you have great skimmer so thats good. feeding i would start keeping some seaweed on a clip 24/7 till you get some algae on the rock, then time to time. other things i mix and match cut up and mush things togather. formula 1 and 2, prime reef, mysids, krill, squid, shirmp, dried-frozen-and flake cyclopeez, spectrum pellets, alternate soaking feedings with garlic extreme and selcon. being at the beach i give fresh things every now and then too. for the squid and things a supermarket is the place to go.

Re: Movie of my tank

here is a link that has some seaweed and clips. Ocean Nutrition MarineDepot.com your LFS will have them, or you could go to the supermarket. the clip you might have to go to the LFS.

Re: Movie of my tank

Very nice looking tank! I love the awe and wonderment of new reefers! I really like the Bicolor angel and the Six Line wrasse (pronounced rass). The kind or seaweed to feed is Nori. That green wrap that holds sushi together. You can buy it dry at any LFS and get a clip with a suction cup to attach it to the inside glass. I recommend that you hang it in the same spot everytime, that way your fish become familiar with that spot as a feeding station and they will line waiting for dinner! I have two clips and I exchange them, one in the morning and one at night. You can also put a few drops of garlic extract (also bought at the LFS) on the Nori to help boost the fishes immune system.
Thanks for sharing the video! Best of luck to you!

BTW, I grew up in Clearwater and my parents live in Green Spring Village in New Port Richey. Are you neighbors?

Re: Movie of my tank

Nori thats the name of it, i forgot. i use some kind with only chinese, japanese or korean kind of writings. dont know the name, my girlfriend does. the first couple times you put it in, your fishes will be petrified. its so funny watching them all scared ducking and hiding all over a peice of seaweed, hehe . i love that.

Re: Movie of my tank

glueing the Nori clip to an old mag float is a good idea too. 1) you dont have to stick your hand to far down to position the suction cup or to pull it out & 2) the suction cup wont last long & the clip will fall to the bottom resulting in more wet-arm.
