Exterminators...

What do you do with your tank when you have your house sprayed for fleas?

Re: Exterminators...

OH NO!!!!!

ive never bin there... But ill tell you something inportent. IF the house is gonna get bombed. you need to cover every opening of the tank...

when im working with anything thats gonna be dusty around the tank i throw this big plastic sheet over the hole tank (lights and all) since my lihts arent that hot.

but i would think that if the house is stagnet with cemicals from a super bug nuke your gonna wanna keep that outta your tank at all costs.

good luck

Re: Exterminators...

The skimmer is probably your worst problem, the cfm's being pumped into the tank will carry anything in the air into the water.good luck and maybe look into other methods of flea removal. Steve

Re: Exterminators...

I bombed my home last year for fleas. I took 4 mil. plastic and sealed off the entire tank. I ran an air line from outside with an air pump and shut the whole tank down. After a 12 hours i aired the house out then took the plastic off and fired the tank back up. Thats what i did and all went well.

Re: Exterminators...

Way to go Frankie. I've heard of others who did just what you did with the same good results. The airline running in from outside and a complete seal on the tank are both imperative. Also, make sure that your air pump is upwind of the home. On the windward side as it was.

An air pump like...
Got a pic?
The tank is right next to a window and my back door.

Re: Exterminators...

the pump and line would be to draw Fresh out sided (unbombed) air and deliver to the tank... you could probly leave some movement on

but seal it good... you dont want that stuff landing on your water

Re: Exterminators...

Ah ha...the bubbler from my old freshwater tank. Got it.
I could leave the pumps going and turn off the skimmer.
